Abstract
The Lewy body is smooth and rounded, with an eosinophilic body and a pale halo. It is the hallmark of Parkinson's disease (PD), and fundamental to the wider concept of «idiopathic» Lewy body disease. A second inclusion, the pale body, also commonly occurs in PD. It has a uniformly granular texture, fails to show histological staining, and lacks a halo. We describe the morphological appearances of the pale body, and compare and contrast it with the Lewy body
